The Yeshiva’s highly acclaimed General Studies Curriculum stresses the essential core skills of reading, writing, and math as well as natural sciences, computer skills, literature, and history. The curriculum is further enriched with additional instruction in Public Speaking, Holocaust Studies, and specialized programs and events including an annual Science Fair, E2K, Science Clubs, and more.
The General Studies Department at YKLI not only exceeds government mandated standards, it continually exceeds the founders' goal of placing the Yeshiva's General Studies on par with the nation's most prestigious private elementary schools. The curriculum is rigorous and expansive but our students, guided by skilled, creative, and professional educators who impart the requisite knowledge, critical thinking skills and a love for learning, rise to the challenge.
At Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island, we are committed to excellence in all areas. Our goal is to create a positive and supportive educational environment where children can grow, develop and mature in every way. All elements and components of the school and classroom serve the purpose of creating a total, coordinated, and integrated learning atmosphere.
At YKLI, our students learn doing, exploring, and discovering. Our creative faculty employ Smartboards, hands-on materials, activities, and games to captivate our students and cement specific learning skills. Every student at YKLI is given individual attention and consideration. Each student's academic progress and work habits are constantly monitored, evaluated, and discussed by the teachers, principals, support staff, and, when necessary, the parents.
When we teach, it is our overriding objective to foster and nurture a lifetime love of learning and a deep thirst for knowledge.
